AIDA Model

Introduction-

AIDA model is an acronym which stands for Attention, Interest, Desire and Action.This is an effective model in marketing which reveals about the stages that an individual goes through in the entire process of purchasing either a product or service.

Historical links-

This Model has been in use since 19th century. It has been defined in modified ways by scholars over the years. This model was developed by an American businessman E.St elmo Lewis in 1898. Lewis is regarded as pioneer when it comes to the use of scientific methods for designing advertising and sales process.AIDA model is usually used in digital marketing public relation Campaign and Sales strategies.

The components of the model are given below: 

Attention- First step in marketing. It is all about attracting the attention of customer. The product or service must attract the consumers attention. It is something which catches the eye of customer at any cost. Conceivably, Sensational video clip maybe an example of it.

Interest- While the first phase is finished, it is very necessary that his(customer) interest in the product or service must be aroused.

Your first approach i.e. attracting attention will be useless if the consumer has not aroused his interest in your product.

Desire- Now when the interest in the product or service is aroused,now the actual job is to be performed by only and only seller means the seller's task is to persuade the customer so that he means the. customer will have to purchase this product or service in every situation.

Seller will provide only advantages of product or service not the disadvantages. It can also be awakened by giving an emotional touch along with advertising.

Action- As soon as the seller has aroused desire in buyer to buy. This must be quickly converted into action means obviously 'purchase' after all is tabs your product or service has finally been purchased by the buyer.

Therefore AIDA model says Attention leads to Interest which leads to Desire and finally Action.
